The Favorite Closet Section.

As an artist who is described by many in her life as a high-value woman, much of Judith Dunbar’s art reflects the self-assured elegance that comes with her knowledge, patience and maturity. She embraces and even celebrates her femininity capturing in paint the sexiness of a little cocktail dress, the sophistication of a ballgown and the classical tutu through her exuberant studies in color, light and shade.

Judith - "As a woman who has spent way too much time blended into anonymity in hospital scrubs or studio attire, donning a beautiful outfit becomes a subtle rebellion. I am atypical and somewhat polite as an artist. I keep my studio spaces tidy; I don’t wipe paint on my clothes (at least on purpose) and I clean my brushes and tools a lot. Maybe that comes with being a nurse. Sometimes I feel out of place for being so strait-laced among my contemporary colleagues. I do not have tattoos; I do not dye my hair bright colors and I would be faking it if I showed up funkier or more out there with make-up and clothing. I am confident in who I am without those things. I do not need to make myself stand out and I embrace being a feminine woman. I love to dress up and quite frankly, it is exciting to be adorned with a cute little cocktail dress, sky high heels and a special piece of statement jewelry. I enjoy elegant fashion and believe that proper etiquette is critical in order to exhibit style and sophistication. Most of the dresses I have painted for this collection are directly from my favorite closet section. I have either owned these dresses or they have been acquired for my daughters. Consciousness is the new sexy. Inner peace is the new success. Kindness is the new beautiful."
