The Inspiration Behind My Sculped Works

Pablo Picasso famously said: “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” This quote is the very foundation of my artistic journey.

One cherished childhood memory is eagerly anticipating art class at school, where the sensory joy of creating art came alive, from the tactile feel of paint tubes to selecting colored paper and favorite pencils. As I grew, this creative journey evolved from wet paint and clay molding to experimenting with various materials using glue. The process of preparing materials became as significant as the finished artwork.

Another creative sanctuary was the kitchen with Grandma. We kneaded pastry, rolled out sugar cookie dough, and whipped up buttercream frosting. These skills remain integral to my life, with homemade apple pies, decorated cookies and cakes, and textured painted canvases becoming my artistic trademarks, known as "Painted Confections."

Facing the choice of becoming a teacher or nurse as I grew older, I chose nursing, a career filled with highs and lows. Yet, art remained my refuge, offering a limitless world of vivid colors and unconventional tools, even incorporating medical instruments like syringes and needles. In contrast to nursing's constraints, my artistic world knows no bounds, providing solace and rejuvenation in the realm of creativity.
